Section Navigation:
Editable Frames are text, image, or color frames that can have their content altered by users on the project or document level without requiring the Template Designer system role. This functionality is useful if an aspect of your layout template (such as a client logo or signature) needs to be different for a specific proposal.
Changing content of the editable frames on the project level will update all documents within the project to reflect the change. Updating the editable frames on the document level will only change the frames for that specific document and will override any changes made on the project level.
To Make Changes to an Editable Frame:
- Navigate to the document workspace
- Select Project or Document from the top black menu bar
- Select Editable Frames
- Click Edit next to the frame you want to change
- Select the Override Default Content option
- Update the picture, text, or color for the frame
- Click OK to save your change
Technical Information
Finished Projects
Frame values cannot be updated on the project or document level once a project is marked as finished.
Duplicating Projects and Documents
When duplicating a project or document where frames are overridden, the overridden frame values are also duplicated. Please note that when duplicating a document, the destination project must be using the same layout template in order for the overriden frame values to be active.
Changing Layout Templates
If the layout template for a project is changed, all values for editable frames on the previous template are saved. If that layout template is applied again, the editable frames will retain all updates. For example, if you have a document with several editable frames and the layout template is accidentally changed, you will not lose all of content that was added to the frames.
Alternative Layout Templates
Editable Frames can only be updated for the template that is applied on the project level as displayed in the Edit Project menu.
