Using Standard Project Name
When creating a new project with a Project Type that is set up to use standard project name, you will not be asked to enter the project name as text. You will instead have to enter or select values for the metadata fields that are used in the project name. The project name will be generated based on the values entered.
If the project name contains optional fields, they can be left blank.
Once a project with a standard project name has been created, the project name can only be edited by changing the values in the metadata fields.
Setting up Standard Project Name
It is the Project Type that determines if a project will use a standard project name.
An option called Use Standard Project Name has been added to the Project Type dialogue. Once this is set, the user can define the structure of the project name (remember to select a metadata set for the project first).
The standard project name can consist of both regular text and metadata fields. Click on Insert Meta Tag to add meta tags to the project name. Metadata fields that are used in the standard project name can be set to mandatory to ensure they are given a value when the project is created. For more, see .
Once set up, all new projects of the project type will be using standard project name.
When creating a metadata set that will be used for projects that have standard project name, arrange the fields in the set so that they appear in the same order as they do in the project name
Duplication and Standard Project Name
A new option has been added to the Project Type to improve duplicating a project with a Standard Project Name. The option Copy project metadata values when duplicating project can be set to on or off for a Project Type. If copy project metadata values when duplicating project is set, XaitPorter will copy the current metadata values to the duplicated project. This is how XaitPorter 5 has handled duplicating projects previously. If your Project Type has Standard Project Name, we recommend setting this option to off. This will clear the metadata values in the duplicated project, meaning these must be re-entered.
