With version 5.1.201809, you can now insert figures into tables by right-clicking within a table cell and selecting Insert Picture -> Insert New Picture In Table.
An icon will be added next to the figure reference once it is inserted, placing your cursor over this icon will display a preview of the figure.
XaitPorter will automatically adjust the size of the figure to fit within the specific table cell. This functionality can be toggled within the relevant layout template by opening the Edit Table Cell Style window under the Figures tab; use the check box next to Try to fit figures automatically in table cell to either enable or disable this feature. If this option is disabled, XaitPorter will set the figure height to the value configured in the Minimal Figure Height field. However, if the width of the table cell does not allow the figure to be displayed at the specified height the remaining space in the cell will be left blank. Please note that only users with the necessary permissions to edit layout templates can access these options.
Within the Edit Picture window under the Layout tab, a new Basic Layout called Picture inside table cell has been added along with the option to set the Anchor as Table and Vertical Position as Inside table cell. These options are used by default for any figure inserted into a table; changing a standard figure to use these options will add a preview icon next to the figure reference but will not automatically place it inside a table.
Please note that only one figure can be inserted into each table cell, if multiple figures are inserted in a single cell only the first will be displayed when exported. Additionally, text content cannot be inserted alongside a figure within a table cell; any text that is placed in the same table cell as a figure will not be visible in the exported document. However, the figure title and caption are an exception to this as they will both be displayed when exported.
